Hilo and its outrigger canoe friendly bay is comfortable hosting events with large numbers of competitors and spectators. Hilo Bay is 1 of 4 venues HCRA utilizes for its HCRA State Championship Regatta, accommodating nearly 5,000 competitors and additional spectators.
